Happy Half Term!

Dear Parents,

What a busy half term we have had!  There have been so many special moments, including residentials, sporting events, grandparents lunch (just to name a few!).  It has been particularly rewarding to see children shine with their reading and enthusiasm to read.  The love of reading is definitely growing in school.   The TT Rockstar battle was exciting too and I cannot wait to see how teachers (including me) battle against the children next half term.  We will all be practising our times tables before then!

A well deserved rest for everyone is nearly here and, as we approach the holiday, I would like to thank all parents/grandparents/carers for all the time you have spent reading, helping with homework, coming in to school and making sure all the children are in school ready to learn on time.  Mornings are always frantic and we do really appreciate your support bringing children in on time, especially when they have morning booster groups.  The benefits are paying off and children are buzzing about their learning and showing great progress.

One of our key Ebor values is ‘opportunities’ and Miss Gordon has been given an exciting opportunity to work in another Ebor school after half term so we will be saying ‘goodbye’ to her tomorrow afternoon.  Miss Gordon has been a great part of our team and we wish her well with her new venture.  We will be having a new teacher starting in school after half term to take her place.  So, I hope you can join us for our autumn afternoon tomorrow and stay for our final assembly of the half term.

Have a great half term and thank you again for all your support.

Mrs Fletcher
