What a busy half term already!

Dear parents/carers,

Well, what a busy half term we have had already and, as usual, there are still lots of exciting things happening over the next couple of weeks.  Although I am looking forward to all the activities going on, it will mean Easter holidays will be here and I will be leaving school to go back to Brotherton and Byram Primary Academy.  The school has been on a quite a journey over the last two years and I feel very proud of Camblesforth school.  As Brotherton and Byram is part of our EBOR hub schools, I will not be far away and I am sure there will be lots of opportunities to come and see the children.

At the end of this term, we also say ‘goodbye’ to Miss Rowbotham who will be leaving us and we wish her every success and happiness in new ventures.

We have had some great events so far:  Las Fallas celebration, Holi, Shrove Tuesday pancake races and tasting to name a few.  We have also had some great achievements:  Our netball team did really well in their tournament last week, coming 3rd overall which was a brilliant achievement and showed the great teamwork they have.  This week, one of our Year 3 children did brilliantly at the North Yorkshire level 3 finals for cross country, coming 10th out of over 70 children in his year, which was an amazing achievement!

Tomorrow we are having our Mother’s Day lunch – another great opportunity for you to join us in school.  Unfortunately, the deadline for booking on this has gone, but there will be other opportunities to join us for lunch later in the year.

Because it is so busy over the next couple of week we have made some changes to events so please note the following and we hope you can join us:

On Friday (29th March), we are having a non-uniform day – children can come in non-uniform and bring a donation of chocolate in for our Easter chocolate tombola.

(Please note:  We are going to postpone our spring clean and planting afternoon until after Easter)

Thursday 4th April – 3.00pm – please join us for coffee and Meet Mr Card, your new Head of School

Friday 5th April – Please join us from 2pm for egg decorating and Easter crafts.  (Please note this is a change to our published calendar dates)

Monday 8th – 12th April – Chocolate tombola after school every day

Wednesday 10th April 2.45pmWhole school Easter concert – all children will be taking part so please join us.

–  Easter Disco – 3.30pm – 4.45pm Nidd

                                                                            – 5.00pm – 6.15pm Derwent, Foss and Humber

Friday 12th April 2.45pm – Easter Service.  All classes will be taking part in Easter presentations and it will also be my last assembly so I do hope you can join us.

I do hope you can join us for as many of the events as possible.

Many thanks again for all the support you have given school and to me over the last two years.

Mrs Fletcher
