“My name is Andy Taylor and I have been a parent governor at Camblesforth Community Primary School since March 2012. My family and I have lived in the village since 2007 and one of our sons currently attends Camblesforth School. Our three daughters, all former pupils of the School, have now progressed to Carlton Holy Family Catholic High School.
Since graduating from Leeds University I have worked as a civil engineer for one of the country’s leading construction companies. Aside from family life and carrying out my duties as parent governor I spend what little spare time I have huffing and puffing around the village and surrounding countryside in a desperate attempt to keep fit or dinghy sailing at a nearby sailing club.
Being nominated as school governor gave me the opportunity to contribute positively to the local community, one of my many goals in life. I am committed to working pro-actively with the governing body, staff and parents with the aim of helping the school be everything it wants, needs and deserves to be, thus giving our children the very best start in life possible. “
