Year 3 and 4
Who works in our Team?
Our class teacher is Mrs Healey Bell and our Assistant Teachers are Mrs Sleeman and Miss Cawthorn.
What happens when?
We have PE on Monday and Thursday. Children bring their PE kits on Monday and leave them in school for the remainder of the week.
We have a wide range of lessons during the week. Each day we always have Maths, Reading and Writing. Additionally, we have weekly Science lessons, Music lessons with Mrs Oldfield and French with Mrs Taylor.
Further to this, our Wider Curriculum afternoons cover the breadth of the foundation curriculum such as History, Geography, Design and Technology, Art, PSHE and Computing.
We practise our handwriting and basic maths skills each day.

Reading
Children take part in guided reading daily as a whole class session. Individual reading books can be changed by your child daily. If your child keeps forgetting to change their book, please let us know. Reading is part of your child’s homework and they have a challenge to read at home at least five times a week .Please could you listen to your child read so that you can ask him/her questions and help them improve their understanding and fluency. We would be grateful if you could then write a note in their planner to say they have read to you.
Spelling
Our weekly spellings are set on a Monday and the children are tested on these the Monday after. The list of spellings we are learning for the week will be in your child’s planner and sent to you via ParentHub as part of a Weekly Update.
Homework
*To read to an adult 5 times a week which is recorded in their reading records
*To practise spellings ready for a spelling test every Monday
*To practise times tables on NumberGym for a few minutes each day.
