Tiny Steps Academy: Where Little Learners Blossom

Our two-year-old program is a truly special place, brimming with learning, laughter, and the joy of new friendships. Here, every child feels happy, safe, and valued.

We offer an exceptional early education in a stimulating and creative environment. Our focus is on providing a secure, supportive, and fun learning space where children can explore and discover the world around them.

We believe that children learn best through hands-on experiences and interactions with others and their environment. We foster this through established routines and inspiring activities.

We deeply value our strong connections with the local community and nurture positive partnerships between children, their families, our program, and the wider community. Together, we support each child to develop into a happy and successful individual.

For many children, Tiny Steps is their first step into the world beyond their family. We cherish each child’s unique qualities and potential, and we’re committed to supporting every family through strong, caring relationships.

At Camblesforth Academy, we strive to create an extraordinary place where each child can take their own special steps to explore and discover. We understand that these early experiences lay a strong foundation for future success, which is why we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care and education.

Parental Involvement

At Camblesforth Primary Academy, we believe that parents are essential partners in their child’s development, and we actively encourage their involvement in the learning process.

By working together in true partnership, we strive to create a stimulating and challenging environment—a warm and welcoming extension of home—where children and adults can explore, have fun, play, talk, and learn together. Our goal is to nurture happy, confident, and independent individuals who thrive within their community.

To foster this partnership from the very beginning, our Tiny Steps staff conducts home visits for all new families. These informal and friendly visits provide an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves, get to know the child and their family, and begin building a strong relationship. Parents often share positive feedback about these visits, appreciating the chance to meet our staff in the comfort of their own home. This initial meeting is the foundation upon which our partnership is built.

Learning Journeys

We love to capture those special “Wow!” moments throughout the year, and we use a system called See-saw to record them. You’ll have access to your child’s personal See-saw account, where you can view these moments and even add your own comments about their learning journey.

To keep you fully informed of your child’s progress, we also hold informal parent-teacher consultations in both the autumn and summer terms. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity for you to discuss your child’s development with a member of our dedicated staff.

Our Facilities

Tiny Steps is well resourced with provisions to ensure coverage of The Early Years Foundation Stage.

There are also changing facilities, two toilets, and sinks which are child size and height to encourage independence. We work closely with parents to support toilet training.

They also have access to the wider school facilities including the hall, Forest schools and our large outdoor areas.

What your child will learn

When you ask your child what they did today, they might say, “Just playing!” And that’s perfectly true! But there’s so much more to play than meets the eye. At Tiny Steps, learning through play is at the heart of everything we do.

Play is a child’s natural way of learning. Through play, children develop new skills, discover new interests, experience new things, and build upon what they already know. We provide a secure, caring, happy, and structured environment where children learn through meaningful play. Our staff carefully selects and plans the materials and equipment to support this learning.

All activities are planned based on ongoing monitoring and assessment of each child’s individual needs and developing skills. Children will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of engaging activities, including messy play, role-play, singing nursery rhymes, story time, letters and sounds activities, small world play, and construction activities
