Brownlee Foundation Mini-Triathlon Event

Four Ebor schools took part in a triathlon organised by the Brownlee Foundation on Wednesday 18th May. From Camblesforth we had 29 children take part. The event was set up by Olympic triathletes and Yorkshire heroes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee. Children from a mixed key stage 2 age range swam, cycled and ran in a non-competitive event at York Sports Village. The purpose was to inspire children from all backgrounds to enjoy sport and encourage them to lead active lifestyles. The event was co-ordinated by Ebor PE lead Steven Jeff. One of the event organisers said the triathlon opened up new opportunities. When the event was held in a West Yorkshire inner city, it was the first time some of the children had been in a swimming pool.
