Nidd Class What’s Happening This Week Commencing 14th May 2018

Literacy

This week we are reading Olivers vegetables in Reception.  We are finding out about the beginning, middle and end of the story and learning about healthy foods.

In Year 1 we will also be reading Olivers vegetables and finding out how food gets to our plate.

Numeracy

In Reception we are subtracting numbers as well as looking at 2d and 3d shapes.

In Year 1 we are learning about division as well as counting to 100.

Phonics

Our phonic sound this week  

Year 1:. Revision of all sounds with a focus on reading alien words as well as adding est and er to words.

Reception: ure

Spellings this week (Year 1)       

playing, running, singing, jumping, writing, reading, biting, calling, hitting, helping
