Nidd Class What’s Happening This Week Commencing 25th June 2018

Literacy

Year 1: This week we are learning about the famous Sailor Ellen Macarther.  We will be writing our own biography of a journey at sea.

Reception: We are reading the story Shiver me timbers and finding out about pirates.  We will write our own pirate passports and a message in a bottle.

Numeracy

In Reception we are learning about position and using position vocabulary.

In Year 1 we are learning about position vocabulary as well as quarter and half turns.

Phonics

Our phonic sound this week  

Year 1:. We are focusing on using contractions as well as reading words with the alternative c/s sound.

Reception: We are learning consonant clusters pt, st, lt, ft, nt this week.
