Last week children across school from Nursery to Year 6 learnt about the religion Buddhism. Buddhism is the teachings of the Buddha: he was a wise teacher. His teachings help people to live wisely and happily. Today, more than 500 million people in the world follow his teachings. We started the week with a whole school meditation session and finished it with a visit from a practicing Buddhist. The children asked him lots of questions and shared their learning. Thank you Mark from the Triratna Buddhist community for visiting us. He sent us a lovely email after his visit.
“Many thanks for making me feel so welcome this morning and for preparing the children so well to ask what were excellent (and challenging!) questions. The attitude of all the children was very impressive and they are a credit to the school.”
Here are some photos from the week.
